Fjord Base nytt

Nyleg kunne vi feire 15 samanhengande månader utan nokon som helst skade på våre tilsette. Dette er eit resultat vi er stolte av. Det kjem etter god innsats i alle ledd, og fordi vi har tilsette med lang og god erfaring med dei arbeidsoperasjonane vi utfører. Vi kan likevel ikkje kvile på tidlegare gode og oppnådde HMS-resultat. Vi må stadig vere årvakne, tenke tryggleik og systematisk utvikle HMS-arbeidet vårt og kompetansen vår, slik vi gjer gjennom programma HMS Fyrtårn og Industrifagskulen.

Første halvår har vore prega av uvanleg store svingingar i aktiviteten på Fjord Base. Produksjonsboring på dei felta vi forsyner vest om Florø, som har bidratt til stabil aktivitet, er redusert. Leiteboring har derfor dominert forsyningsaktiviteten vår. I sin natur er leiteboring meir uforutsigbar og for 2. kvartal har vi fått den såkalla ketchup-effekten der all aktivitet kjem på same tid. Men våre tilsette tek utfordringa og vi viser nok ein gong at vi har evne og vilje til å levere det kundane våre ønskjer!


Equinor fornya nyleg røyrkontraktane med Petroleum Service, Ramco, Parker Wellbore og Tuboscope.

 Dette er svært gledeleg for alle på Fjord Base og vi gratulerer så mykje med dei ferske kontraktane. Røyrhandtering er svært viktig for Fjord Base, ettersom mange selskap og sysselsette er engasjerte i denne verdikjeda. Dei inntil 9-årige kontraktane vil styrke Fjord Base som det fremste miljøet for handtering av røyr i landet, eller OCTG som det heiter på fagspråket.


Medan olje og gass–aktiviteten held eit godt nivå framover, førebur vi oss for å bli ein framtidig base for havvind.

 Vi planlegg no kaiar og infrastruktur for saman-stilling av havvindturbinar på Naust-holmen. For større havvindprosjekt, ser vi på korleis eksisterande baseareal kan utnyttast, og samarbeid med andre basar. Vi ser også på behovet for areal. Bruk av nytt areal har fått stor merksemd, ikkje minst lokalt med arealplanarbeidet i kommunen. Vi står ovanfor fleire dilemma nasjonalt og lokalt, og fordelar og ulemper med å ta i bruk nytt areal må vegast opp mot kvarandre. Vi vil bidra til å belyse problemstillingane og bidra til å gje politikarane best mogleg underlag for vedtaka. Investeringane vi ønskjer å gjere i kaiar og infrastruktur vil gje positive ringverknader for Florø-samfunnet. Montasje av havvind vil styrke og vidareutvikle fagmiljø som Florø-samfunnet allereie er i landstoppen på.


Vår visjon er å koble menneske og teknologi saman for å byggje framtidas Fjord Base.

 For snart to år sidan lanserte vi Saga Connect, ei løysing for operasjonell samhandling og logistikkplanlegging. I dag nyttar 45 selskap og over 200 brukarar løysinga dagleg. Dette har gitt resultat. Sidan oppstarten har vi redusert snutid på fartøy med 26 %, forhaling med 30 % og oppnådd ei årleg CO2-reduksjon på nærmare 300 tonn. Dette er vi stolte av! I tillegg til direkte økonomiske innsparingar, bidreg Saga Connect også til å redusere risikoen for kostbare forseinkingar for fartøy med destinasjon Fjord Base. Gode støtteordningar frå Kystverket og dyktige tilsette i Fjord Base Gruppen har vore viktige for å utvikle Saga Connect. Siste nytt er lanseringa av Marknadsplass, som skal gi fartøy tilgang til endå fleire tenester frå Fjord Base-miljøet gjennom Saga Connect.

– Vi nærmar oss 40 års lang og god erfaring som base- og logistikkselskap, men vi er framleis innovative og endringsvillige for å møte kundane og samfunnet sine behov.

Fjord Base Gruppen har gjort ei omorganisering.

 Aktiviteten er som før, men med færre selskap og ein enklare struktur. Føremålet er å styrke fagmiljøa og samhandlinga i gruppa vår, for å yte endå betre leveransar til våre eksisterande og nye kundar. For å ytterlegare styrke identiteten og profilen vår som forsyningsbase for både olje, gass og fornybart, vil vi lansere ny logo og grafisk profil. Vi får også heilt nye heimesider der både samfunnet rundt oss og kundar finn god informasjon om kven vi er, og kva vi kan levere av tenester.

Recently, we celebrated 15 consecutive months without any injuries to our employees. This is an achievement we are proud of. It comes after great effort at all levels and because we have staff with extensive experience in the operations we perform. However, we cannot rest on our past good health, safety, and environment (HSE) results. We must remain vigilant, prioritize safety, and systematically develop our HSE efforts and competencies, as we do through the HSE Lighthouse program and the Industry School.

The first half of the year has been characterized by unusually large fluctuations in activity at Fjord Base. Production drilling in the fields we supply west of Florø, which has contributed to stable activity, has been reduced. Exploration drilling has therefore dominated our supply activity. By nature, exploration drilling is more unpredictable, and in the second quarter, we experienced the so-called ketchup effect, where all activity occurs at the same time. Yet, our employees rise to the challenge, and once again, we demonstrate our ability and willingness to deliver what our customers want!

Equinor recently renewed pipe contracts with Petroleum Service, Ramco, Parker Wellbore, and Tuboscope. This is very encouraging for everyone at Fjord Base, and we congratulate them on the recent contracts. Pipe handling is very important for Fjord Base, as many companies and employees are engaged in this value chain. The contracts, which can last up to nine years, will strengthen Fjord Base as the leading environment for pipe handling in the country, or OCTG as it is known in technical terms.

While oil and gas activity maintains a good level moving forward, we are preparing to become a future base for offshore wind. We are now planning quays and infrastructure for the assembly of offshore wind turbines at Naustholmen. For larger offshore wind projects, we are looking at how existing base areas can be utilized and collaborating with other bases. We are also assessing the need for land. The use of new land has received significant attention, particularly locally with the land-use planning work in the municipality. We face several dilemmas both nationally and locally, and the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing new land must be weighed against each other. We will contribute to highlighting these issues and provide politicians with the best possible foundation for decision-making. The investments we want to make in quays and infrastructure will have positive ripple effects for the Florø community. The assembly of offshore wind will strengthen and further develop the expertise that the Florø community already excels in nationally.

Our vision is to connect people and technology to build the future Fjord Base. Nearly two years ago, we launched Saga Connect, a solution for operational collaboration and logistics planning. Today, 45 companies and over 200 users utilize the solution daily. This has yielded results. Since its launch, we have reduced vessel turnaround time by 26%, waiting time by 30%, and achieved an annual CO2 reduction of nearly 300 tons. We are proud of this! In addition to direct economic savings, Saga Connect also helps reduce the risk of costly delays for vessels heading to Fjord Base. Good support schemes from the Coastal Administration and skilled employees in the Fjord Base Group have been crucial for developing Saga Connect. The latest news is the launch of the Marketplace, which will give vessels access to even more services from the Fjord Base environment through Saga Connect.

We are approaching 40 years of strong experience as a base and logistics company, but we remain innovative and adaptable to meet the needs of our customers and society.

The Fjord Base Group has undergone a reorganization. Activity remains as before, but with fewer companies and a simpler structure. The aim is to strengthen the expertise and collaboration within our group to provide even better deliveries to our existing and new customers. To further enhance our identity and profile as a supply base for both oil, gas, and renewables, we will launch a new logo and graphic profile. We will also have entirely new websites where both the surrounding community and customers can find good information about who we are and what services we can provide.
