Florø begins where the ocean ends. Therefore, our region has always looked toward the world and the wealth hidden in the sea. This perspective has enabled Fjord Base to play a central role in Norway's oil adventure as the largest supply base in the country. For nearly 40 years, we have created jobs and value for the entire local community in Florø.

Today, more than 650 people have secure jobs and incomes from businesses at Fjord Base. Here, major oil companies and their suppliers produce and prepare equipment and goods that are essential for safe and efficient production in the fields. We are the hub that offers total logistics services and functions as a one-stop shop for all customers. We connect the mainland and the shelf with 2,000 ship calls and 5,000 truckloads of goods and equipment entering and leaving the area annually.

The fact that the major companies in the oil industry choose Fjord Base as a reliable partner is no coincidence. Over several decades, we have built knowledge and expertise on how to best facilitate logistics and operations for customers and suppliers. We are known for our uncompromising standards for health, environment, and safety. This culture has been built through hard work, continuous development, improvement, and new solutions.

Oil resources will not last forever. Now, Fjord Base, like the entire Norwegian society, is facing a significant shift toward a more sustainable industry. This transition will happen while we continue to provide services and solutions to our customers in oil and gas-related businesses. In this way, we will not only preserve today’s jobs but also create new ones through the opportunities presented by the green shift.

In close collaboration with customers, suppliers, politicians, and local authorities, we will facilitate this. Our ability to innovate and our determination to succeed will be the driving forces behind this work. We will continue to be the preferred partner for leading players in the green transition, whether it concerns the production of ammonia, green hydrogen, land-based aquaculture, the assembly of offshore wind turbines, or other opportunities for which Fjord Base is well-suited.
