Delivery of ship waste

At Fjord Base, we facilitate the reception of ship-generated waste, typically residual waste and other waste resulting from vessel operations. The delivery of ship waste must be reported via SafeSeaNet at least 24 hours before arrival. Information about the type of waste, quantity, and delivery plan must be provided. The base watch can also be contacted at +47 91801041. A waste fee will be added to the quay fee, in accordance with the rates applicable in our port area. See prices here.

There is a distinction between a “no special fee,” where the fee covers the cost, and a “special fee” for larger quantities, where a waste handler is ordered to collect waste at the relevant quay. The “special fee” is covered by the vessel. The table below shows the waste fractions we accept and the maximum quantity under the “no special fee.” The base watch will provide further instructions regarding the placement of containers and other details.

If you are not satisfied with the waste management service, you can report this directly using a dedicated form. Serious deviations can also be reported to the Norwegian Coastal Administration here.
