Practical information
This information has been prepared to ensure an overview of hot work and other hazardous activities at Fjord Base. The goal is to prevent incidents that may occur during simultaneous operations between neighboring companies. Saga Fjordbase AS is responsible for monitoring and maintaining updated information on ongoing hazardous work and stored chemicals. Tenants are responsible for risk assessment, obtaining necessary work permits, and informing both Saga Fjordbase and neighboring companies of upcoming work.
The purpose of this information is to ensure continuous oversight of hot work or other potentially hazardous activities at Fjord Base. This aims to prevent incidents resulting from simultaneous operations between neighboring companies.
Saga Fjordbase is responsible for monitoring ongoing hot work or other hazardous activities at Fjord Base, based on information from tenants. They must maintain an up-to-date overview of chemicals stored at tank facilities throughout the year.
Each tenant is responsible for assessing the risks of work performed in their area, as well as risks related to neighboring companies. They are required to obtain any necessary work permits if needed. Tenants are also responsible for informing Saga Fjordbase and neighboring companies about any work to be conducted in their area. Saga Fjordbase is responsible for maintaining forms and procedures.
The tenant completes their own form and sends it to the Logistics Center at Saga Fjordbase via a dedicated digital form. Neighboring companies are notified through a separate email to inform them. Work should be communicated as soon as possible, ideally at least two days before it begins. Any changes to the plans, or if the work lasts longer than initially informed, should be reported directly by phone: 91 80 10 41 (Base guard)
